When is the best time to move?
The busiest times for moving companies are typically during the summer months, May-September. If you are planning a move during that time you should make arrangements early. Friday and Saturdays are big moving days so if you have flexibility in your schedule it can be easier to get a date during the week rather than a weekend.
What do I do with my pets?
You want to make sure animals are in their cat/dog carrier prior to the movers arriving. Animals are curious and can get underfoot. If your dog isn’t good around strangers please have them tied up or in their carrier. The moving company cannot transport any live animal no dogs, cats, fish or reptiles are allowed in the truck.
Do I need to be home during the move?
On the day of the move you need to be present. There is paperwork to sign and you need to show the movers exactly what is being moved. After the movers have loaded the truck you will be ask to do a walk through. That is the time to point out anything that may have been missed once the truck drives away they are done. At the unload they will place boxes in rooms based on the rooms written on the boxes (ie., bedroom, kitchen, garage). Furniture will be placed in the location you specify. It is helpful if you already have a basic idea where you want furniture placed. If the movers have to keep rearranging and switching furniture around it will take longer and you are paying hourly.
What do I do with my children on moving day?
If you have young children it is a good idea to do the move while they are in school or daycare. You will be busy with the movers and it will be difficult for you to give your child the attention he/she needs. It’s a much less stressful day for you if you children are not home on moving day.
Should I tip the Movers?
The movers do accept tips. Industry standard is 10-15% of the moving job which they divide up evenly.

I had an emergency move to get out of my apartment on time and into housing with friends. These guys were able to outfit me with a move. I thought I had decluttered more than I did. I have extra stuff which took extra time and they were so kind to stay a few more hours. The crew safely disassembled and assembled some large furniture pieces too. Very happy!

We have hired their services to move our office to a new location ( on a second floor) in multiple days. They are careful , they diligently padded all the walls and flooring before they started moving. Once they started, they work very quick. Greg's team is very accomodating and friendly together with Mikey, Sam, Dom, Trap, and Alfonso. They cleaned up well too when they were done. Communication before the truck showed up was excellent. The two gentlemen who came in to move a large desk out of my upstairs, were very conscientious. Just had our household goods delivered by Top Notch Movers, the guys that came were Mikey, Jimmy, Josh, DJ, and Charles (Chuck), they did a fantastic job, called to give me an ETA when they were headed our way, got here when they'd said they would, made sure to put floor and wall protection up, and were extremely nice and respectful. They got everything moved into the house in about 4 hours, super fast and efficient, had no problem taking things to all the different rooms we asked them to, put together the furniture we requested and did a great job cleaning up after. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Being a Veteran and military dependent, I have experienced many transitions and moves over my lifetime. Moving can be overwhelming as one must trust the movers will treat ones belongings with the same respect and care that we owners do. DJ went out of his way to make sure he handled my treasures gingerly and with the utmost care. Kevin was quick to call us back when we inquired about a last minute move. It wasn’t even 5 minutes after I put in for the quote we were on the phone and getting ready for a virtual walk through, so he could give us the most accurate quote possible. Not only was quick to respond on a Saturday, he was able to accommodate us with a very quick turn around of a Monday (yes that’s right, 2 days later!) move date. Kevin was also very in depth with what the charges were, how he was getting to the final cost, as well as how to ensure we got the best deal with making sure we had the amount of movers to get this done in a timely fashion! I didn’t feel blind sided by any of the charges put in front of us as he walked us through each line of the estimate making sure we were all on the same page. We had a very short window to pack and move and Kevin, the coordinator, took all the stress of planning away, was very helpful and made sure we had exactly what we needed when we needed it. The movers worked hard and were careful with all of our possessions.The only thing to consider is we were charged 3% extra for using a credit card instead of cash. Had I known that was the case, I would have paid cash.
